Derivart is an interdisciplinary art group located in Barcelona. Currently, it is constituted by a fine artist, a creative engineer and a sociologist of finance.
Jesús Rodríguez, is an artist and independent curator, ex-president of BASE (Barcelona Art Students Exchange), president of UATA (Union Timeless Art) and cofounder of Culture Workers, a platform for collective interventions in the cultural sector.
Mar Canet, is computer game engineer and designer. After compliting his BA in design he held a two years fellowship at ESDI, school of design. He subsequently went to England to study computer BSc(Hons) games development at University Central Lancashire. Currently he lives in Linz Austria working for Ars electronica and is an MA student in the Interface culture program of Kunst Univesity of Linz. He is interested in data visualization, computer games and new media art.
Daniel Beunza is assistant professor of management at London School of Economics. Beunza's research studies various aspects of Finance and economics from a sociological perspective. In one project, Beunza studied how a Wall Street bank organized its derivatives trading rooms to find profit opportunities. In another, he examined how securities analysts value companies whose future is radically uncertain. In yet another, Beunza observed how New York traders recovered from the attack of 9/11, rebuilt their trading equipment and found meaning in work outside Lower Manhattan. His installation "Listening to the Spreadplot" was exhibited at the "Making Things Public" exhibition at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe (Germany).
